The cross-2 rear wheel is weak and I've broken 4 driveside spokes on 4 different occasions. What could be better: the stock seatpost is cheap and heavy. The radial spoked front wheel has been rock solid and has required NO truing. The stock Velo Plush saddle is very good but I went with a slightly wider Nashbar-labeled Velo saddle for increased long ride comfort. The finish and looks are fabulous, I love the big retro-script 'Schwinn' on the downtube. The stem and geometry allows me to set my bars up to around an inch below the saddle for great comfort. The aluminum frame/ steel fork rides really good for aluminum.
drivetrain works absolutely flawlessly even with some miles on it. So I shopped for an affordable road bike and settled on the Schwinn SS at a local LBS. The comfort just wasn't there after 3+ hours of riding. I realized I needed to get a road bike when I started doing long road rides on my rigid Fat Boy tire equipped mtb. I haven't road biked for over 10 years but after getting involved with my company cycling club recently I was bitten by the road bike bug again.
